PCB Design & Manufacturing

Schematic to assembled board

S-Tech designs and manufactures printed circuit boards. This has been part of the business from the start and it is why our hardware knowledge goes deeper than reselling — when a reader module has to go inside a custom enclosure, or a device needs a board that does not exist yet, we make it.

What we build

Scope of this service

Custom PCB layout

Schematic capture and multi-layer layout, from a simple two-layer board to 16+ layers with controlled impedance.

High-speed and RF design

Controlled-impedance routing, differential pairs, length matching and RF sections for antennas and radio modules.

Design for manufacture

DFM and DFA review before fabrication, so a board that works in simulation also builds reliably on a line.

Prototyping

Quick-turn prototypes for validation before committing to a production run.

Flexible and rigid-flex

Flex and rigid-flex boards for devices where a cable will not fit or will not survive.

Assembly and testing

Component sourcing, SMT and through-hole assembly, functional testing and burn-in.

Our process

How a project runs

Five stages, in this order. The first one removes most of the risk and is the one clients are most tempted to skip.

  1. 1

    Requirement and schematic

Function, interfaces, power budget, size and environment agreed, then schematic capture and review.

  2. 2

    Layout

Stack-up, placement and routing, with impedance control and thermal considerations designed in rather than fixed afterwards.

  3. 3

    DFM review

Manufacturability, testability and assembly checked before fabrication, which is the cheapest place to find a problem.

  4. 4

    Prototype and validate

A small run built and tested against the requirement, with a documented result.

  5. 5

    Production

Volume fabrication and assembly with functional testing, and revision control on the design files.

Examples

Work of this kind we have delivered

Described by what was built rather than by client name, until we have permission to publish.

RFID reader modules

Boards carrying UHF reader modules with the antenna matching and enclosure constraints designed together.

Access control boards

Door controller boards with relay outputs, reader interfaces and local storage for offline operation.

Sensor and IoT boards

Low-power sensor boards with wireless connectivity for temperature, door and vibration monitoring.

Industrial interface boards

Boards bridging legacy industrial equipment to modern network interfaces.

Engagement models

How we can work together

Which one fits depends mostly on how settled the requirement is, and how much you want to steer week to week.

Design only

We design the board and hand over the manufacturing files. You produce it wherever you choose.

Design and manufacture

Full service from schematic to tested, assembled boards delivered.

Manufacture to your design

You supply the files, we fabricate, assemble and test.

Questions

Common questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

Prototypes can be a handful of boards. Volume pricing starts to make a difference from a few hundred. Tell us your quantity and we will quote both.

Can you source the components too?

Yes. We handle sourcing including alternates where a part is on long lead time, and we flag any part that is a supply risk before you commit to a design.

Do you do RF and antenna design?

Yes — it is a regular part of our RFID work, including antenna matching and the layout constraints that come with it.

Tell us about your pcb design & manufacturing project

Send the problem rather than a specification. We will come back with an approach, an engagement model, and an honest view of whether an existing product would be cheaper.

We reply within one working day.

Tell us what you need to track

Send us the problem and we will come back with a specification — the software, the hardware, and a read-rate trial on your own goods before you order anything.
