Hardware
The right tag for the surface, the range and the environment
The tag is where an RFID project succeeds or fails. A tag that reads perfectly on cardboard will read badly on metal, and one that survives a warehouse will not survive an industrial wash. We supply the full range and, more usefully, we test the tag against your actual product before you commit to a quantity.
An RFID tag is a tiny chip with an antenna. When a reader sends out radio energy, the tag wakes up on that energy and sends back its unique number. There is no battery in a passive tag, nothing to charge, and no line of sight needed — which is why a reader can count a whole carton without opening it.
The range
Model names and exact specifications change as manufacturers revise their ranges. These are indicative — your quotation carries the current specification.

What you get from us
We run read-rate trials on your actual material, packaging and orientation before you order in volume. That test is the cheapest part of the project and the one that prevents the expensive mistake.
LF 125 kHz, HF and NFC 13.56 MHz, UHF 860–960 MHz and 2.45 GHz active. We pick the band from the job, not from what we have in stock.
Tags supplied encoded to your numbering scheme, with your logo, barcode and human-readable ID printed on the face.
High temperature, chemical, outdoor UV, wash and freezer variants for the places a standard label will not last.
Where it is used
Compatible software
It also works with software we did not write. We integrate at protocol level, so this hardware can be driven from your own system — that is a service we offer.
Tags are supplied in reels and in bulk with volume pricing. Minimum order quantities depend on the type — label tags start low, custom moulded and on-metal tags have higher minimums. Ask for samples and a read-rate trial before you commit.
