Jewellery Retail
Count the whole showroom in minutes, every day, without taking a single piece out of the tray.
- Minutes
- Full showroom count

- Daily
- Counting becomes routine
A jewellery showroom holds enormous value in small items that all look similar and all have to be counted. Doing that by hand closes the shop and irritates the staff, so it happens twice a year. With an RFID tag on every piece, a tray is verified in seconds and a full showroom in minutes — which means it can be done daily, and daily counting is what actually prevents loss.
The problem today
What it looks like before
If two or three of these describe your operation, this solution is worth a conversation. If none of them do, it probably is not.
What we hear
Stock-take shuts the showroom for a day or two, so it is rare and shrinkage is found long after the fact.
Pieces go out on approval, to a karigar or to an exhibition, and tracking them is a slip of paper.
Finding one specific design for a customer means opening several trays while they wait.
Insurance and audit both want a verified stock position that nobody can practically produce.
How it works
Step by step, on site
Not an architecture diagram — the actual sequence of what happens to a physical thing.
- 1
Tag every piece
A small jewellery hang tag or self-locking loop tag goes on each item at receipt, mapped to its weight, purity, design and cost.
- 2
Count a tray
A pocket or handheld reader sweeps a tray or a showcase and reconciles it against the system in seconds, without opening anything.
- 3
Track what leaves
Pieces going out on approval, to a karigar, or to an exhibition are read at the door, so the outstanding list is always current.
- 4
Find a design fast
Search mode locates a specific piece in the showroom while the customer is still standing there.
- 5
Reconcile daily
A closing count each evening becomes part of the routine, so a discrepancy is known the same day rather than months later.
What changes
Results and benefits
Figures come from real deployments. They depend on site conditions, which is why we commit to numbers for your site only after a trial.
- Minutes
- Full showroom count
- Seconds
- One tray verified
- Daily
- Counting becomes routine
- Loss is detected the same day, when it can still be traced.
- Counting stops requiring the showroom to close.
- Approval and karigar stock has a live, defensible outstanding position.
- Insurance and audit get a verified stock statement produced from real reads.
Example deployment
What one site looked like
Client names are withheld until we have written permission to publish them.
Single showroom, 9,400 pieces
Every piece tagged over two weeks alongside normal trading. The annual two-day stock-take was replaced by a daily closing count taking about twenty minutes. In the first quarter the daily count caught two misplacements the same evening, both of which would previously have surfaced only at the annual count.
Implementation & support
How the project actually runs
Including the parts that take the longest and the parts you have to own rather than us.
- 1
Tag trial on your stock
Gold, silver, diamond and stone pieces all behave differently on RFID. We trial tag types on your actual trays before committing to a quantity.
- 2
Tagging drive
Pieces are tagged and their weight, purity and cost captured, usually outside trading hours over one to three weeks.
- 3
System setup
Item masters, rate handling, making-charge rules, karigar records and user permissions configured.
- 4
Readers where they pay
A handheld for counting, a door reader for what leaves, and a counter reader for billing where volume justifies it.
- 5
Routine and training
The daily count is built into the closing routine and staff are trained on counting, searching and the approval flow.
Questions
Before you commit
Do the tags spoil the display?
Jewellery tags are made small and neutral for exactly this reason, and are usually removed at the point of sale. We show you samples on your own trays before you decide.
Does gold or a diamond block the tag?
Metal detunes a tag, which is why tag selection and placement matter so much here. On the right tag with the right placement, read rates on a tray are consistently above 99%.
How long does the initial tagging take?
Roughly 100 to 200 pieces per person per hour including data capture. A 10,000-piece showroom is one to three weeks with a small team working around trading hours.
