1,800 students marked present before the first bell
A CBSE school with 1,800 students and 200 staff replaced register-based attendance with UHF gate reading and automatic parent alerts.
- Before the bell
- Morning attendance complete
- Seconds
- From gate read to parent alert
- In-house
- Card replacement in five minutes
The problem
Where they started
Attendance was taken on a register in every period, costing teaching time across the school day and producing figures the office did not fully trust at month end. Parents called the office every morning to confirm their child had arrived, and the office had no way to answer quickly.
What was deployed
The solution
Two UHF gate lanes at the main entrance, RFID student cards printed and encoded in-house on a supplied card printer, classroom readers in senior sections, readers on the bus fleet, and a white-label parent app with SMS and WhatsApp alerts. School ERP handles admissions, fees, exams, timetable and staff payroll.
“Within a month the morning calls to the office stopped. Parents get the message before they have finished parking.”
