Smart Attendance System

NFC and UHF RFID attendance with no queue and no touching — shift rules, reports and a clean feed into payroll.

Product screenshot — Smart Attendance System. The client supplies 3 to 6 clean screenshots per product before launch.

S-Tech Smart Attendance marks people present as they walk in. UHF readers pick up a card from a pocket or a bag at a few metres, so a shift change does not queue at a device. NFC and card taps are supported where you want a deliberate punch, and biometric devices work alongside for places that need them. On top of the reads sit real shift rules, overtime, and an export that payroll can use without cleaning.

Why this exists

What it fixes

These are the problems clients describe to us before they buy. If none of them sounds like your week, this may not be the right product — tell us and we will point you at a better one.

What we hear

  • Fingerprint readers create a queue at shift change and stop working on dusty or wet hands.

  • Touch-based punching is unwelcome in hospitals, food plants and clean areas.

  • Attendance data comes out of the device as a raw log that somebody has to interpret in Excel before payroll can use it.

  • Buddy punching is easy to do and hard to prove.

What is inside

10 modules

Every deployment turns on the modules you need. Nothing here is a separate purchase unless the plan says so.

People & credentials

Employees, contractors, students and visitors with photo, department, shift group and an RFID card, fob or NFC credential.

Hands-free UHF marking

Walk-through readers at the entrance mark presence at a few metres with no stopping, no queue and no contact.

NFC & card tap

Tap readers and NFC phone credentials where a deliberate punch is wanted, including on a supervisor's Android device for field teams.

Biometric alongside

Fingerprint, face and palm devices integrated into the same attendance record where policy requires biometric proof.

Shift & roster rules

Shift patterns, night shifts crossing midnight, grace periods, half-day rules, weekly offs and holiday calendars by location.

Overtime & regularisation

Overtime by rule with approval, missed-punch regularisation, on-duty and outdoor-duty marking with a manager approval trail.

Anti-buddy controls

Photo capture on read, one-person-one-entry with a turnstile, anti-passback and exception flagging for review.

Mobile & field attendance

Android app with geo-fence and selfie punch for field staff, drivers and site teams who never pass a reader.

Payroll export

Clean monthly attendance with present, absent, leave, late, overtime and shift allowance per employee, ready for HRMS or any payroll system.

Reports & alerts

Live in-premises headcount, late and absent lists, department summaries, and absence alerts to a supervisor on WhatsApp.

The RFID difference

What RFID adds over manual and barcode

Barcode and manual entry still work everywhere in this product. This is what changes when you add RFID on top.

  • A UHF reader marks a stream of people walking in, so 500 staff enter in the time a fingerprint queue handles 50.
  • Nothing is touched, which matters in hospitals, food processing and clean rooms.
  • The same card can mark attendance, open the door and work in the canteen, so staff carry one credential.
  • A card read is instant even with gloves, wet hands or a dusty environment, where fingerprint readers fail.

Every S-Tech product

The same nine promises, on all 22 products

These are not per-product features. They apply to everything we build, and they are the reason our software works on sites where other systems do not.

RFID-first

Every product is built around RFID speed and modern technology from the start, not bolted on afterwards.

Any RFID hardware

Ready to configure with any make of RFID hardware. Barcode, QR code and traditional manual methods work by default.

Runs anywhere

Web, Windows, macOS, Linux, Ubuntu, Unix and Android. Your team uses the machine it already has.

Online or offline

Works fully online in the cloud, or fully offline on a local server, and syncs when a connection returns.

Self-hosted option

Host it on your own server and keep the data inside your building. No dependence on our infrastructure.

White-label

Available under your own brand — logo, colours, product name and domain.

Customisable

Every deployment is unique. Modules, fields, forms, reports and workflows are changed to fit your process.

Performance & reliability

Built for speed and uptime under real load, on real hardware, in places with unreliable power and network.

Secure by design

Encrypted data, role-based access, full audit trail and scheduled backups. You own the data.

A note on wording: where we say "fully offline" we mean the system runs on a local server on your own network with no internet connection, and syncs when one returns. Where we say "secure" we mean encrypted data, role-based access, a full audit trail and backups you control. We would rather be specific than round it up to 100%.

Questions

Before you ask us

The things buyers actually check. If your question is not here, ask it — we answer honestly, including when the answer is no.

How far away does a UHF reader mark someone?

Typically 2 to 5 metres depending on antenna, card type and mounting. That is enough for a normal doorway or a walkway, which is where it is installed.

Can we keep our existing biometric machines?

Yes, in most cases. We read from the common controllers over their SDK and merge those punches into the same attendance record as the RFID reads.

How do you stop one person carrying two cards?

A photo is captured on read, and where it matters we pair the reader with a turnstile or flap barrier so only one person passes per read. Exceptions are flagged for a supervisor rather than silently accepted.

Will it feed our existing payroll?

Yes. The monthly export is produced in the format your payroll expects, and where the payroll system has an API we push it directly.
